Make the Connection: Accelerated Initiatives with Online and Hybrid Education

General description of the project

The Weekend College was founded in 2015. It was specifically designed for working adults seeking an associate’s degree or a type of certification that can lead to a livable wage. The entire degree is set up in an accelerated 7-week format and can be completed in 18 months or less. The program’s current retention rate is 89% and is just as impressive in success. The program allows students a razor focus on exact pathways so time is not spent taking unneeded courses -this saves students both time and money. Every schedule is tailored to address students’ goals and their educational journey. Data indicates the majority of students taking advantage of this type of program are Hispanic/Latino (over 35% of enrollments). TCC Connect campus continues to refine the program through marketing, adding hyflex courses, and 100% online synchronous courses. Weekend College connects with students through recruitment, advisement, and accelerated programs.
