1. From your perspective, what are the top three issues facing higher education today? Why? (no more than 300 words) / Desde su perspectiva, ¿cuáles son los tres principales problemas que enfrenta la educación superior hoy día? ¿Por qué? (máximo de 300 palabras)
The top 3 issues facing higher education today are:
-Advancements in Technology making our society lazier
-Job requirements moving into being more skill-focused
-Lack of adaptation in teaching styles and resources used
These are the top 3 issues facing higher education today from my perspective because there is an alarming rate of students failing to critically think due to technology making things easier and replacing humans in our everyday jobs. Technology was created to be an assistant but it is being used to do the whole job in the first place which is only hurting us and the potential that we have. In regard to job requirements, more students are opting to not go to school and are looking to jump quickly into the workforce. Learning is being seen as something that only happens in the first part of your life and does not continue when that is not the case as we are continuously learning. As jobs become more skill focused they are asking for only a certain aspect of a professional rather than looking for the full professional themselves and I believe holistically the full professional is not built by only focusing on a skill and not growing as a person which is something I believe was promoted with higher education and jobs wanting a certain degree, years of experience and etc from a candidate. In regard to lack of adaptation in teaching styles and resources I believe that our current society has grown immensely in the past years yet our education styles are not reflective of our current society and that creates a disconnect with student learning and comprehension. We do our students a disservice when we do not prepare them for the current climate we are in.

(no more than 300 words) / Si pudiera influir para lograr algún cambio en su institución, ¿cuál sería? y ¿cuál es el aspecto único de su institución que le gustaría mantener? (máximo de 300 palabras)
If I had the influence to instill change at the University at Albany, one thing I would change is the restricted majors and one thing I would keep that is unique to my university would have to be our health and promotion office.
