HETS Online Journal – The HETS Online Journal is provided as a service to the entire academic community. As a communication vehicle for educators who employ various forms of technology to teach Hispanic students, the HETS Online Journal serves a purpose to amplify the message about how we can use technology to improve our pedagogy. As technology advances continue to come to market, an independent voice regarding the use of technology is essential. It is our hope that our journal fulfills such a need.
HETS publications – As part of its efforts to increase awareness on the uses/advantages of technology to improve education, support and effective use of technology, and disseminate best practices and common interests, HETS has launched a series of publications that reach more than 8,000 representatives and contacts. These publications include a members-only newsletter, a magazine on relevant topics for our members, and key special reports on topics discussed through roundtable initiatives developed among our members.

Canadian Journal of Distance Education – The Journal of Distance Education is an international publication of the Canadian Network for Innovation in Education (CNIE). Its aims are to promote and encourage Canadian scholarly work in distance education and provide a forum for the dissemination of international scholarship. Original material in either English or French is invited in three broad categories: (a) Scholarly articles and research papers that focus on issues related to distance education; (b) Reports that highlight unique solutions to critical problems, short descriptions of work underlying new or innovative programs or contemporary events, and brief notes on research in progress; and (c) Dialogues devoted to the discussion or debate of issues in distance education that may arouse controversy. Also included here will be papers written in reply to articles published in earlier issues of the Journal.
Canadian Journal of Learning & Technology – The Canadian Journal of Learning and Technology is a peer-reviewed journal that welcomes papers on all aspects of educational technology and learning. Aggregators can integrate the records in their commercial services and libraries can integrate the directory into their online catalogues, helping scholars and students to discover the books. Electronic Journal of e-Learning – The Electronic Journal of e-Learning (EJEL) provides perspectives on topics relevant to the study, implementation and management of e-Learning initiatives. EJEL has published regular issues since 2003 and averages between 3 and 4 issues a year. The journal contributes to the development of both theory and practice in the field of e-Learning. Encyclopedia of Educational Technology– The Encyclopedia of Educational Technology (EET) is a collection of short multimedia articles on a variety of topics related to the fields of instructional design and education and training. The primary audiences for the EET are students and novice to intermediate practitioners in these fields, who need a brief overview as a starting point to further research on specific topics. International Journal of Learning and Media – The International Journal of Learning and Media (IJLM) provides a forum for scholars, researchers, and practitioners to examine the changing relationships between learning and media across a wide range of forms and settings. Our focus is particularly, but by no means exclusively, on young people, and we understand learning in broad terms to include informal and everyday contexts as well as institutions such as schools. We are especially interested in the broader social and cultural dimensions of these issues and in new and emerging media technologies, forms, and practices. We are particularly keen to promote international and intercultural exchange and dialogue in the field and encourage contributions from a variety of academic disciplines and perspectives, including papers from practitioners and policy-makers. Through scholarly articles, editorials, case studies, and an active online network, IJLM seeks to provide a premier forum for emerging interdisciplinary research and debate and to help shape the development of the field around the world. We publish contributions that address the theoretical, textual, historical, and sociological dimensions of media and learning, as well as the practical and political issues at stake. The journal builds on six “state of the art” volumes of research in the field published by The MIT Press early in 2008. InSight: A Journal of Scholarly Teaching – is a scholarly publication designed to highlight the work of postsecondary faculty. It is a refereed scholarly journal published annually by the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) at Park University. InSight emphasizes the enhancement of post-secondary education through the professional exchange of scholarly approaches and perspectives applicable to the enrichment of teaching and learning. Relevant to this mission, articles are geared toward post-secondary faculty and administrators; included in this audience are full-time and adjunct faculty; face-to-face, hybrid and online faculty; tenure and non-tenure track instructors; trainers in corporate, military, and professional fields; adult educators; researchers; and other specialists in education, training, and communications. International Journal of Educational Policy & Leadership – IJEPL is a refereed electronic journal dedicated to enriching the education policy and leadership knowledge base, and promoting exploration and analysis of policy alternatives. The Journal welcomes articles on educational policy and leadership related to a variety of disciplines and educational settings, as well as policy initiatives that emanate from various levels of government. Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication – A quarterly peer-reviewed, scholarly journal. Its focus is social science research on computer mediated communication via the Internet, the World Wide Web, and wireless technologies.
Journal of Educators Online – Journal of Educators Online is an online double-blind peer review scholarly journal in the broad area of Computer Mediated Learning (CML) which includes distance, online, electronic, virtual, distributed, blended and & mobile learning. Computer-mediated learning occurs when an individual interactively learns (formally or informally, synchronously or asynchronously) about material via computer means where the learning materials and pedagogy are developed to take advantage of the available technologies.
Journal of Interactive Online Learning – focuses on providing a venue for manuscripts, critical essays, and reviews that encompass disciplinary and interdisciplinary perspectives in regards to issues related to higher-level learning outcomes. The Journal of Interactive Online Learning is published by a joint effort of The University of Alabama, the University of Texas at Tyler, The University of Idaho, as well as other faculty from other institutions.
Journal of Online Learning and Teaching – MERLOT is a free and open resource designed primarily for faculty and students of higher education. The MERLOT Journal of Online Learning and Teaching (JOLT) is a peer-reviewed, open access, online publication addressing the scholarly use of multimedia resources in online education. JOLT is published quarterly in March, June, September, and December. The objectives of JOLT are to:
- Enable faculty to use technology effectively in online teaching and learning by learning from a community of researchers and scholars;
- Enable academic programs to design and deploy academic technology to optimize online teaching and learning;
- Build a community around the research and scholarly use of multimedia educational resources for online teaching and learning.
Journal of Educational Technology & Society – Educational Technology & Society is a quarterly journal (January, April, July and October). Educational Technology & Society seeks academic articles on the issues affecting the developers of educational systems and educators who implement and manage such systems. The articles should discuss the perspectives of both communities and their relation to each other:
- Educators aim to use technology to enhance individual learning as well as to achieve widespread education and expect the technology to blend with their individual approach to instruction. However, most educators are not fully aware of the benefits that may be obtained by proactively harnessing the available technologies and how they might be able to influence further developments through systematic feedback and suggestions.
- Educational system developers and artificial intelligence (AI) researchers are sometimes unaware of the needs and requirements of typical teachers, with a possible exception of those in the computer science domain. In transferring the notion of a ‘user’ from the human-computer interaction studies and assigning it to the ‘student’, the educator’s role as the ‘implementer/ manager/ user’ of the technology has been forgotten.
The aim of the journal is to help them better understand each others role in the overall process of education and how they may support each other.

La RIED nació en el año 1998 sucediendo a la anterior Revista Iberoamericana de Educación Superior a Distancia, que se creó en 1988. Revista Latinoamericana de Tecnología Educativa – La Revista Latinoamericana de Tecnología Educativa (RELATEC) tiene como objetivo principal ser un puente en el espacio latinoamericano entre expertos, especialistas y profesionales de la docencia y la investigación en Tecnología Educativa. Esta editada por la Universidad de Extremadura (UEX) y patrocinada por el Dpto. de Ciencias de la Educación de la UEX y la Red Universitaria de Tecnología Educativa (RUTE). Tech & Learning – For over 30 years, Tech & Learning has served the K-12 education community with practical resources and expert strategies for transforming education through integration of digital technologies. Our audience includes all job roles within the district community, with district-level technology coordinators the primary recipients. Beyond that, our magazine is often used as a professional development tool to help educators across the board get up to speed with the newest technologies and products in order to best prepare students for the global digital workforce.
Teaching Issues and experiments in Ecology – is a peer-reviewed web-based collection of ecological educational materials. It is “a resource for busy ecology faculty who are looking for new ways to reach their students, or who perhaps want to learn more about teaching and learning.” Each of the volumes here contains Experiments, Issues, and Teaching. In the Experiments area, visitors can find resources for laboratory settings, while the Issues section features classroom exercises and web-based materials. On the site’s homepage, visitors will find the All Volumes link, which will allow them to look over all the resources dating back to 2004.
Tendencias pedagógicas – La revista “Tendencias Pedagógicas” perteneciente al Departamento de Didáctica y Teoría de la Educación de la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, apareció por primera vez el año 1994, para dar respuesta a una necesidad sentida de publicar los trabajos de investigación que van produciendo los equipos y profesores del Departamento. A lo largo de sus dieciséis años, se ha convertido, además, en un lugar de encuentro y comunicación, una plataforma de intercambio, por lo que tiene abierta sus puertas a las investigaciones de los profesores de otras universidades o instituciones y en otros campos afines a las áreas que componen el Departamento, para ser expresión crítica ante los acontecimientos que en el campo educativo vaya generando la actualidad. “Tendencias Pedagógicas” ofrece los trabajos más relevantes publicados en cada una de las áreas constitutivas del Departamento (Didáctica y Organización Escolar, Teoría e Historia de la Educación, Métodos de Investigación y Diagnóstico en Educación).

Int J FYHE is published bi-annually with one issue linked to the Pacific Rim First Year in Higher Education Conference.
The International Review of Research in Open and Distance Learning – The International Review of Research in Open and Distance Learning (www.irrodl.org) is a refereed, open access e-journal that disseminates original research, theory, and best practice in open and distance learning worldwide. IRRODL is available free-of-charge to anyone with access to the Internet.
The Journal of Doctoral Research in Education – Provides opportunities for the dissemination of the work of current doctoral students at any stage of their research, and recent doctoral graduates, on any aspect of education or related areas; opportunities for the dissemination of “work in progress” to the academic community. It serves as a resource for professionals involved in educational inquiry and research. Published twice a year under the auspices of the Doctoral School at the Institute of Education, University of London. It was first published in 2001.
