Unlocking New Horizons: HETS Student Passport Heads to New York City

The Hispanic Educational Technology Services (HETS) proudly announces the upcoming second edition of its Student Passport: Connect, Learn & Lead, set to take place from June 16 to 20, 2025, in the vibrant city of New York. You can access the full Schedule at: SCHEDULE Student Passport NY.

This immersive educational experience offers students from HETS member institutions in Puerto Rico, Latin America, and across the United States a unique opportunity to engage with leading academic institutions, expand their professional networks, and explore leadership pathways.

Participants will embark on an enriching Academic Experiences journey featuring:

  • Academic Experiences: Students will have the opportunity to engage with representatives from the following HETS member institutions in New York and New Jersey, showcasing cutting-edge programs, student support services, and opportunities: Borough of Manhattan Community College (CUNY), University at Albany (SUNY), New Jersey City University, Kingsborough Community College (CUNY), John Jay College of Criminal Justice, Queensborough Community College (CUNY), LaGuardia Community College, SUNY Empire State University , Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Hostos Community College (CUNY), Lehman College (CUNY), and Bronx Community College (CUNY).
  • Student Presentations & Workshops: A dynamic platform where students showcase their innovative projects and engage in thought-provoking discussions on technology’s impact across all academic disciplines.
  • Cultural & Networking Activities: Experiences designed to enhance students’ understanding of diverse academic and professional environments while also experiencing New York City’s rich culture, visiting iconic landmarks, and engaging with its dynamic arts and history.

Dr. Yubelkys Montalvo, Executive Director of HETS, emphasized the transformative potential of this initiative: “Our goal with the Student Passport NY Edition is to empower students by providing them access to dynamic academic experiences and leadership opportunities in one of the most influential cities in the world. We are thrilled to welcome students to New York as they embark on a journey of discovery, connection, and growth.”

This initiative is made possible through the collaboration and support of HETS’ participating institutions and the sponsorship of Miami EdTech, Bella Media, and Burgerology.
