My name is Jennifer Juliana Ramirez, but everyone calls me Juli. I’m a medical student from Colombia, currently preparing for the USMLE Step 1 exam. My biggest academic and professional goal is to match into an internal medicine residency in the U.S. and become a well-rounded physician who truly makes a difference in people’s lives.
I’m also passionate about helping other international medical graduates (IMGs) through projects like MatchMind, an AI-based tool I’m developing to guide others through the residency process. I’ve been part of Project IMG, a supportive community for international medical students, for over a year.
I’ve received academic scholarships, including one for my internship year in the U.S., which starts this November. I’ve also had the opportunity to speak about mental health and guide meditations for people struggling with anxiety and depression as part of school activities. Whenever I can, I volunteer for underserved communities both in Colombia and in Latino communities across the U.S.
Outside of medicine, I love moving my body, whether it’s working out, walking by the ocean, or doing Pilates at home. I enjoy cooking, journaling, photography, and sharing my journey through social media in an honest, simple way.
Wellness, service, and romanticizing the little things in life keep me grounded as I walk this path toward becoming the doctor, I’ve always dreamed of being.
