Katherine is a student and advocate studying Political Science and Philosophy at Eastern Connecticut State University. Salvadoran-born, South Dakota-raised, she intertwines a passion for environmental policy with a commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, striving for more equitable solutions to environmental challenges.
Last summer she became a Yale Conservation Scholar, a program through the Yale school of the Environment where she interned for The Ocean Project. Katherine, used her time at the Ocean Project to focus on leveraging technology in order to advance US Ocean Justice policy.
