
Jennifer Mathes, Ph.D., is a pioneering leader in applying artificial intelligence within education, serving as Chief Executive Officer of the Online Learning Consortium (OLC). With more than 25 years of leadership experience in advancing online, blended, and digital learning, Dr. Mathes has shaped strategic initiatives transforming how education is delivered worldwide. She is the author of the ICDE report Global Quality in Online, Open, Flexible and Technology Enhanced Education and co-author of The State of Online Learning in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reports (higher education and K12), and she is a leading advocate for the thoughtful integration of AI to drive innovation, improve learning outcomes, and strengthen professional development across the education sector.
Dr. Mathes earned her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and holds both an M.S. in Business Education and a B.S. in Mass Communications from Illinois State University. At OLC, she leads initiatives that help educators and institutions harness the power of AI with integrity and purpose. Through her global collaborations, extensive scholarship, and vision for the future, Dr. Mathes is helping to shape a new era of digitally enabled, AI-driven education.
