Project: Analyzing microangiogenesis of porcine ischemic heart failure through immunohistochemical staining
Description of the project: By utilizing IHC analysis, we can determine the degree of microangiogenesis of porcine myocardium post cell sheet implantation, allowing for the establishment of better treatment options for Ischemic heart failure in the future.
Biography: Majoring in Biology, Taylor has been an undergraduate student at the University of Houston-Downtown since Fall 2019. She is gaining extensive experience in Chemistry, Biology, and Physics each semester and is on track to earn a Bachelor of Science in Biology by May 2026. Taylor is dedicated to pursuing a career in the medical field, with a particular focus on a surgical specialty. Her commitment to helping others is matched by her strong desire for lifelong learning. She is driven by the opportunity to provide impactful care and continually advance her knowledge and skills within the dynamic field of surgery.
