Presenter: Diego E. Ojeda Riveiro, Inter American University, San Germán Campus
Project: From Data to Navigation: Implementing Geolocation Services for Inter SG
Description of the project: I created Vía Inter to solve the daily challenge of navigating our massive San Germán campus, ensuring students and visitors can find everything from the ‘One Stop’ to specific classrooms. The project has been a tangible success, evidenced by the fact that the university has fully embraced it by placing QR codes at every office on campus, putting the tool directly into the hands of users right when they need it most. Through this collaboration, the most profound lesson I learned is that an idea is much closer to existing than one would think. We often view these types of solutions as distant or complex hurdles, but I realized that the gap between imagining a solution and building a reality is surprisingly small when you just start executing.
