HETS joins the Hispanic Heritage Month celebration! Founded in 1993, as the first bilingual consortium dedicated to serving the higher education needs of the Hispanic communities, HETS is pleased to serve and collaborate for thirty years with the U.S. Latino (or Latinx) and Hispanic communities.
The HETS Consortium is constituted of more than 40 higher education institutions in Puerto Rico, the United States, and Latin America, mostly Hispanic Serving Institutions, which recognize the importance of how those communities have influenced and contributed to American society. HETS is a pioneer organization in the use of technology in higher education with three decades of history, committed to continue serving and supporting the capacities of its member institutions to enhance Hispanic/Latino student success and opportunities in Higher Education. Its services are focused on institutional and student success based on its enormous expertise and services ready to be used through its portal hets.org. Moreover, it focuses on finding solutions to many common issues to establish new possibilities for collaboration with other institutions and potential partners.
HETS Executive Director, Dr. Yubelkys Montalvo, shares a short video about the importance of Hispanics and their contributions to society. Through this video, Dr. Montalvo emphasizes some of the most important contributions and characteristics of the Latinx /Hispanic community that had made them earn the respect and reputation such as their drive to achieve their goals.
