HETS Ambassadors – USA and Latin America

Participants Profile of the Student Ambassador’s Program 
(Academic year 2019-2020)

We congratulate and welcome the Student Ambassadors, who have been recommended and selected to represent their Institution for the 2019-2020 academic year. This Program will allow them the opportunity to promote the student support services that HETS has available free of charge to our affiliated institutions.

 


Institution: TCC Connect Campus of Tarrant County College- Texas, USA

Rogelio Machuca, is currently pursuing an Associate of Applied Science degree for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management at Tarrant County College in Fort Worth, Texas in the United States. He is involved in the Intercultural Network and Men of Color Collaborative programs for his college. He is an aspiring entrepreneur who dreams of becoming his own boss and having a successful business or multiple successful businesses. He also desires to be able to travel the world in the future, while meeting new people and having new experiences.

 

 


Institution: California State University, San Marcos – California, USA

Joel Durán, is a Business Management student at California State University San Marcos with minors in Psychology and Philosophy. His involvements on campus and achievements include being an Orientation Team Leader, Marketing Director for the Latino Business Student Association, Founding Father of Delta Sigma Phi Chapter, and receiving Outstanding Student award in the Business Professional Development program. He’s currently a performance and life coach whose goal is to help individuals become the best versions of themselves by accomplishing their goals and overcoming limiting beliefs that hinder their growth through the use of visualization exercises, thought field therapy techniques, Neurolinguistic Programming, and creating massive paradigm shifts by achieving a deep understanding of those he works with and working together to redefine and fulfill their needs!

 

 


Institution: California State University, Sacramento State- California, USA

Erica Pérez attended Sacramento State and received a Bachelor’s of Art in Communications Studies and is currently pursuing a Master’s of Art in Educational Technology from the same institution. She serves as the Communications Specialist for five equity programs at Sacramento State, including, the College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP), Dreamer Resource Center (DRC), High School Equivalency Program (HEP), Migrant Student Leadership Institute (MSLI) and the Serna Center. The mission of these programs is to serve, retain and graduate underrepresented students by providing various resources and the necessary tools to successfully graduate. Her goal is to create innovative strategies, communicate and engage students via visual communication through the use of technology and digital media.

 


Institution: Houston Community College- Texas, USA


Arlicia Kinion was born in Houston, Texas and raised in Pensacola, Florida. She describes herself as resilient, since despite of several life happenings, those haven’t determined her happiness. When moving back to Houston, she enrolled in Houston Community College’s Business program majoring in Business Management. As an HCC mentor she had the privilege of mentoring first generation students while strategically promoting student success and completion. After graduation, she transfer to Texas Southern University as a junior entering Jesse J. Jones School of Business. In addition to her academic success, Arlicia has launched her personal brand Royal Essence, LLC with hopes of building purpose driven women. She’s also serving on the leadership team and extending care to her local community.
