1. From your perspective, what are the top three issues facing higher education today? Why?
1. Lack of resources to assist in the implementation of new technologies
2. Short staff
3. Collaborating with the right stakeholders is sometimes overlooked. Creating challenges when trying to move forward with application delivery.
2. What are your own institution’s priorities and challenges with regard to leveraging instructional technology and distance education for the benefit of the entire organization?
Our institution has always prioritized the the delivery of cutting edge technologies however, sometimes there is not enough personnel to help assist with the delivery of these technologies.
This can present an issue in the long run because if these technologies are not used to their full potential, then we are all missing out.
3. If have the influence to instill change at your Institution, was one thing you could change, what would that be; and what is the unique aspect of your institution you would like to keep?
I would like to have an influence in advocating for more Latinas to work in Information Technology. I’d like to see a more diverse group working in this field. There is so much potential for all of us however, I am specifically referring to Latinas. Given the opportunity of having a mentor and the right sponsorships can make a world of a difference.
