Individualizing Professional Learning to Provide Equitable Access
To guarantee equal access the Puerto Rico Department of Education put out a request for proposal after Hurricane Maria to supply equipment, assess competencies, design an individualized plan and deliver professional development for over 25,000 educators. Various competitors where evaluated and it was not until 2020 that the project was granted to three different providers. One handled equipment, another for professional development and Global Education Exchange (GEEO) teacher assessment, individualized techno pedagogical plans and micro-credentials.
The participants will learn:

(2) How school state, school and teachers had equal access to information, technology and training synchronic, a synchronic and self-directed.
(3) The impact of one-year implementation.
Technologies
The implementation started in April 2020 during the 2020-2021 school year to improve teachers’ perception and competencies to teach and learn with technology in grades k-16. In collaboration with the University of South Florida’s Center for Instructional Technology, and Digital Promise GEEO administered the Technology Uses and Perception Survey (TUPS), designed specific metrics for the analysis from which to generate the individualized professional development plans and the micro credentials. During this panel, the participants will learn challenges, outcomes from the first year, and next steps to support teachers in each of the three levels to ensure all students have equal access to learning.
