To Blend or not to Blend: A Case Study of On-line Learning in General Biology

This paper contributes to the decision-making process around the use of on-line courses at community colleges serving students of color.

Technologies

On-line Black Board hosted course infused with video web-based content.

Explain project results

1.The results will inform on-line instructors in the S.T.E.M fields that in these fields courses must be designed with greater thought to moving students towards deeper learning. This could be achieved through the use of adaptive technology ( where and when available) or creative course design.

2. Improved design of our on-line S.T.E.M courses will support student retention and pass rates.

Why it should be considered best practice?
