To instill change at the institution I am at, I would think of better ways to engage students. I believe this institution has a lot to offer, but students struggle with knowing how to interact with each other. Technology plays a major role in today’s society. I would want to leverage technology in a way that engages students, but still allows them to gain the social skills needed to interact with the campus community. One unique aspect of campus that I would like to keep is our initiative to retain first-year students. This institution does a great job at meeting students where they at, regardless of their background. I believe if we continue to extend opportunities that will allow students to stay on campus, then it will contribute to the overall retention of students.
