Bio
Dr. Douglas Bump
Dr. Bump began teaching in 1976, tutoring and teaching every grade level from fourth to twelfth grade math. Dr. Bump received his Master’s degree in Educational Technology from Texas A&M. He earned Ed. D. in Instructional Technology from the University of Houston. Each year he has taught he has learned new methods of teaching and tricks of the trade. The “tools of the trade” which are incorporated in the videos are unique and original offering a fresh perspective to the teaching of developmental mathematics.
General description of the initiative or project
The author has made over 3000 videos which are 2 minutes to 10 minutes long. These videos cover prealgebra, introductory algebra, intermediate algebra, college algebra and dosage calculations for nurses. They have been Googled over 50,000 times each year. They have been used in the module based computer instruction for mathematics at Houston Community College. The final exam review videos for all developmental math courses at HCC help our students as they study for their exams.
