The presenters are faculty and staff members who have taught or assisted faculty in creating online courses, hybrid and/or asynchronous. They have all presented individually or in smaller teams on the most effective methods of teaching online.
General description of the initiative or project
A group of Hostos Community College faculty who teach online in both the hybrid and asynchronous modalities teamed up with Hostos EdTech staff members to develop a research study looking at students’ perceptions of their online learning experiences. The research team created and distributed an anonymous survey with the goal of identifying strengths and weaknesses in both online instruction as well as student preparedness. The presenters will discuss the creation of the research team, survey design, the results of the survey, and future research plans.
