Karla Colón-Romero is an accomplished Evaluator, data manager, instructional designer, digital content specialist, and research professor with extensive experience in the higher education sector. With a Doctor of Education degree in Instructional Technology and Distance Education from Nova Southeastern University, a Master of Science in Evaluative Research in Health Services from the University of Puerto Rico Graduate School of Public Health, and a bachelor’s degree in General Science from the University of Puerto Rico at Río Piedras. Karla has a strong educational background and a wealth of knowledge in academic research and management, accreditations, distance education, and faculty development.
Since 2020, Karla has served as research faculty in the Chiropractic Program and in the Medical Imaging Program, where she has made significant contributions to the development of innovative teaching practices, curriculum design, and assessment strategies. Her research interests in education include distance education, educational innovation, learning analytics, teaching practice, assessment, curriculum, and instructional design.
Karla is a creative, committed, and self-motivated professional who works independently as a distance education consultant, instructional designer, and data analyst. With her extensive knowledge and expertise, she has helped numerous institutions and organizations to develop and implement effective distance learning programs, digital content, and instructional design strategies that have resulted in improved student outcomes.
