With electrical engineering background and specialization in automation engineering, Dr. Feng has a particular interest in applied and cross-discipline research. Currently pursuing research initiatives in areas such as distributed automation, system condition monitoring, robotic manipulator control, safety instrumented function evaluation and implementation, power system automation, and PV system optimization. Dr. Feng has worked on undergraduate research programs sponsored by a variety of government funding agencies such as NSF, THECB, NRC, and TWC. Findings from undergraduate research projects have been reported at UHD and nationwide student research conferences over recent years. Dr. Feng is the founding faculty member and Program Coordinator of Control and Instrumentation Engineering Technology (CIET) at UHD. She acts as faculty mentor to students, providing support to students, inside and outsider classrooms, for successful education experience. Dr. Feng is the Faculty Advisor for ISA-UHD Section and SWE-UHD Chapter, promoting STEM education and career opportunities.
