Dr. Lynn Tashiro is the Director for the Center for Teaching and Learning at California State University of Sacramento. She has been employed at Sacramento State as a Professor of Physics, the Director of First Year Experience Programs, and most recently as the Director for the Center for Teaching and Learning. She graduated from Stanford University with a Ph.D. in Applied Physics and has worked in private industry in engineering and international laser sales and marketing.
Dr. Tashiro has written and served as the Principal Investigator on over ten million dollars of federal and private education and research grants from agencies such as the National Science Foundation and the U.S. Department of Education. Projects have included STEM student early intervention advising programs, student success data analytics, the networking of student peer programs, and the creation of faculty and professional learning programs. Dr. Tashiro is a Fulbright Scholar with a focus on professional development, science education, and institutional change for equity.
