
Carolyn Choate’s professional experiences include eLearning Instructional Designer, 26 years teaching (higher ed and secondary), nine years working with online LMS’s (Canvas, Blackboard, Google Classroom, and Schoology), and fifteen years as an independent business owner (cheer and dance training facility). Her education includes an Ed.D. Curriculum and Instruction with an Emphasis in College and Career Ready, a M.Ed. Administration and Leadership, and a BA English. Dr. Choate specializes in providing support for English language learners and supporting faculty on digital platforms developing online courses. Dr. Choate has published several articles presenting on educational issues and is currently writing and presenting about the need for equity and support for online ESOL courses in college. In her spare time she supports the Great Dane Rescue, gardening, family time (specifically with daughter and son-in-law), going on beach vacations, reading and writing for pleasure and publishing, and educational research. Some fun facts about Dr. Choate are she was a NCAA Nationally ranked all-around gymnast; she owns and rides a Harley Davidson 1200 Sportster; at 16 and 17 years old she danced with the Fort Worth Ballet; and I played polo leisurely (horse/stick/ball) with family in the US and in South America.
