Designing to Motivate Fatigued E-learners

General description of the project:

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected retention for our E-learners in higher Ed, and now more than ever our students are fatigued and burnt out. Rarely do we ever consider motivation in course design, so what strategies can we implement? In this session, we’ll explore combating learner fatigue through the ARCS model of motivation, leveraging microlearning apps like TikTok and YouTube, and using creativity with Canva. Before we think of engagement, we need to explore that driving force that takes our students to the next level. You’ll leave with a model and strategies for motivating and engaging students across industries.
