This year, HETS is delighted to collaborate and support the Blackboard’s First-Gen Symposium , that will be held on Wednesday February 12 at Texas A&M University-San Antonio. We are pleased to invite HETS members to a special event in coordination with the Blackboard Texas team and Texas A&M University-San Antonio. This event is another free opportunity to continue the series of one-day events held last spring delivered by Blackboard to their Texas clients – called the Blackboard Waltz Across Texas. These events are focused on strategic planning for online and digital learning, innovative client solutions, and quality course design, and provided a technology showcase as well.
This free symposium will provide information related to research and best practices when it comes to using technology to influence success of these students. We have carefully crafted an agenda to help further your work with first-generation students, including hands-on sessions to try out ideas for yourselves.
Please visit https://go.blackboard.com/texas-symposium for the full agenda and to register. HETS Executive Director, Ms. Yubelkys Montalvo and HETS key collaborator, Francisco García from UTRGV are among the invited speakers. While there is no cost to attend, registration is important to reserve a seat. We encourage you to share this invitation with others on your campus who are also interested in this topic.
Registration will close February 7, so register ASAP!
Please feel free to contact the HETS office if you need more information. We look forward to seeing you February 12 at Texas A&M University-San Antonio!
