HETS constantly seeks to support Hispanic Students and its membership to better serve its constituents. Under the Virtual Plaza we have a section to support students trying to determine their career path as they explore and take the leap to a new career. The Career Transition Center has the tools any student may need in a step-by-step approach to: 1) explore new career possibilities; 2) assess their interests and experience; 3) identify ways to improve their prospects, including networking and education; 4) prepare for a job search; and 5) search and apply for jobs.
Another resource available for member institutions is the Test & Education Resource Center with access to search for colleges, distance (online) learning opportunities, programs for international students, and nursing schools. Search thousands of graduate, law, M.B.A., nursing, and distance learning (online) opportunities. Explore vocational schools, career colleges, information technology programs, executive education programs, and private secondary schools. Prepare for the GED; civil service and military entrance exams; licensing tests for law enforcement, real estate, the postal service, and many other fields; plus college and graduate school admissions exams.
Each of the aforementioned resources has a series of tutorials, with audio in English, which will aid you in exploring the main sections. Check the table at the Career Transitions or Test & Education Resource Center to see if your institution is a member and you can benefit from these tools. If your institution is not a HETS member yet, please review how to become a member.
