My name is Miguel Toro, and I am a graduate student at New Jersey City University pursuing a Master of Science in Business Analytics and Data Science. With a GPA of 3.97 and a solid foundation in Management Information Systems from Santa Maria University in Ecuador, I aim to build a career that merges data science with strategic decision-making in both private and public sectors.
I currently serve as a Supplemental Instruction Leader in the Math Department at NJCU and previously worked as a Graduate Assistant in the Finance Department and Dean’s Office, where I applied data analysis, visualization, and technology to enhance student learning and institutional performance. My journey also includes valuable experience as a Software Analyst and Data Analyst Intern in Ecuador, where I improved system performance and helped visualize key government analytics.
I am passionate about helping others succeed academically, and I regularly support students through peer learning and creative problem-solving. While not officially part of an honors program, my academic recognitions and leadership roles reflect my commitment to excellence. Outside of academics, I enjoy soccer, play guitar, sing, exploring technology trends, and volunteering through tutoring and academic outreach.
As a HETS Ambassador, I look forward to promoting student success, inclusion, and innovation across our campus and the broader Hispanic community.
