A scholarship is an award of financial aid for a student to further education. Scholarships are awarded on various criteria usually reflecting the values and purposes of the donor or founder of the award. The following list is a sample of different types of awards that are available at HETS member institutions. American University of Puerto Rico: Durante el mes de febrero de cada año, la Oficina de Asistencia Económica de AUPR comienza el proceso de orientación sobre los documentos requeridos para radicar la Solicitud Gratuita de Ayuda Federal y otras ayudas disponibles a los Estudiantes para el próximo año académico.
Atenas College: La misión de la oficina consiste en proveer la mejor orientación y ayudar a todos los candidatos y a los estudiantes, de manera que aprendan y conozcan los procedimientos para solicitar las ayudas económicas así como los requisitos que deben cumplir para beneficiarse de las mismas y hacer el mejor uso del privilegio de ser un estudiante becario.
Borough of Manhattan Community College – New York: Academic scholarships can supplement the funding or be an alternate source of funding for your education. There are a number of scholarships available to students currently enrolled at BMCC who have attained a high degree of academic excellence.
Bronx Community College: There are a number of scholarships available to students currently enrolled at Bronx Community College. Please view the scholarship index, search engines, and list of providers.
California State University, San Bernardino:There are many different types of aid available within each of the main categories of grants, loans, and scholarships. It’s worth it to review each type to find which one might suit you and your circumstances. Not all aid types will apply to everyone, but nearly everyone can find aid that works for them.
California State University, San Marcos: CSUSM offers a number of scholarship programs supported by the generosity of our scholarship donors. We are indeed fortunate that our donors are committed to ensuring that CSUSM students have access to higher education. Their generosity reflects their support and commitment to recognizing the achievements of our students. In 2012, The Student Emergency Fund was established through the Senior Class Gift Campaign and matching gifts from generous donors. The fund was created to provide compassionate assistance to students who encounter unforeseen financial emergencies or catastrophic events that hamper their progress towards a degree.
College of Staten Island: The mission of the Office of Student Financial Aid of the College of Staten Island is to facilitate students’ access to public and private financial assistance programs for post-secondary education. The Office assists students and their families in applying for aid and aims to generate delivery of aid funds to students most expeditiously within all applicable rules, regulations and procedures of funding entities, CUNY, and the College.
Carlos Albizu University: If you are applying or enrolled as a degree-seeking student at Albizu University, the Office of Financial Aid can provide you with information on financial assistance, including how to apply for scholarships, work opportunities, grants, and loan programs available to qualified students. Financial aid is designed to help students meet the direct and indirect costs of their education, such as tuition, fees, books, and supplies.
Cumberland County College: By working with you to identify and receive financial aid from a variety of sources, they can give you the peace of mind to concentrate on your studies, not tuition bills. Whatever financial support you’re seeking, they can provide the expert guidance you need from the time of your acceptance to graduation and beyond.

Herbert H. Lehman College – New York: Lehman College students may receive a Lehman Foundation Scholarship, the Peter F. Vallone Academic Scholarship, the Lehman Honors College scholarship, scholarships administered by the Department of Computer Science and Mathematics, and all State and Federal financial assistance. In addition, the Office of Testing and Scholarships assists students in locating national, regional, and local scholarships for which they may be eligible.
Hostos Community College: The Office of Financial Aid provides a myriad of student aid related services, ranging from assistance with financial aid forms to job referrals. It serves an average of well over 6,000 students annually, awarding Hostos students well over $28,000,000 per year. (details on scholarships can be found here.)

Lehman College: The Lehman College Scholarship Office is dedicated to assuring that scholarship funds are used to recruit, retain, and help students graduate. All students are welcome and encouraged to visit and inquire often for an array of information regarding internal and external scholarship opportunities. Medgar Evers College: The Office of Financial Aid core mission, is to ensure that all eligible students enrolled at Medgar Evers College apply and benefit from both Federal and State Financial assistance—grants, loans, and work-study programs, for education beyond high school.
National University College: ofrece asistencia económica a estudiantes que son elegibles para los programas actualmente administrados por la Institución. Polytechnic University: a series of federal, state and institutional financial aid programs are available to students applying for admission to any of its campuses in Puerto Rico and United States mainland.

Southeast Missouri State University: Southeast Missouri State University offers more than $17 million in scholarship awards annually, making a Southeast education possible for any student who seeks it. Many options are available, with thousands of students throughout the Midwest and worldwide receiving awards based on merit, financial need, outstanding achievement in specialized fields, or any combination of these criteria.

University of Texas Rio Grande Valley: Most students at UTRGV receive some form of financial aid to help offset the cost of their education. This usually consists of some combination of scholarships, grants, loans, possible work-study and other institutional aid programs.
