In many respects, Lehman College students are the so-called non-traditional learners who are juggling jobs and family often at the expense of their schooling. Its students often use their off hours to study part-time while they work full-time or part-time. Online and hybrid learning presents a compelling opportunity for these working young adults who are seeking to complete their bachelor’s degree, earn a professional certificate, or obtain a graduate or professional degree. This presentation will cover three exemplary practices that illustrate techniques that can take your hybrid class From the Teacher-as-Lecturer Model (Talking’) to one where Students are Contributors of their own Learning (Teacher/Moderator and Student/active participant).
