This meeting was <strong>hosted by Borough of Manhattan Community College<\/strong> in its recently opened Fitterman Hall building. This Board <strong>meeting closes the academic year 2012-2013<\/strong> envisioning numerous new projects for next academic year, including the 2014 Best Practices Showcase.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">HETS shared the exciting news of its expansion not only among Puerto Rico and USA, but in Latin America. Additional HETS initiatives shared with the Board included the following:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li><strong>New services that were added<\/strong> to the HETS <a href=\"http:\/\/hets.org\/virtualplaza\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Virtual Plaza<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Campus visits<\/strong> that generated positive outcomes translated in additional memberships<\/li>\n<li>HETS <strong>events with partners<\/strong>, <strong>identification of more experts<\/strong> among members in new areas<\/li>\n<li><strong>Collaborative efforts<\/strong> among members<\/li>\n<li><strong>Redesign<\/strong> of the <a href=\"\/our-services\/professional-development-events\/online-workshops\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>HETS Spanish online workshops<\/strong><\/a> ready to be offered this Fall semester<\/li>\n<li>Two <a href=\"\/our-services\/professional-development-events\/online-workshops\/english-workshops\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>online workshops in English<\/strong><\/a> ready to deliver in a self-paced modality<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"\/2014-hets-best-practices-showcase\/call-for-proposals\/\"><strong>Call for Proposals<\/strong><\/a> for the <a href=\"\/2014-hets-best-practices-showcase\/\"><strong>2014 Best Practices Showcase<\/strong><\/a> Conference to be submitted on or before <strong>October 8<\/strong>. The <strong>2014 Best Practices Showcase<\/strong> will take place on <strong>January 16 and 17 in San Juan, PR<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">We <strong>look forward to continue strengthening our HETS initiatives the upcoming year<\/strong> to foster a greater <strong>collaboration among all of our affiliates and widen our partnerships<\/strong> with other organizations, as we <strong>continue celebrating 20 years of continuous services<\/strong>.
