{"id":4955,"date":"2013-06-18T16:32:37","date_gmt":"2013-06-18T20:32:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hets.org\/wp\/?p=4955"},"modified":"2013-06-18T16:32:37","modified_gmt":"2013-06-18T20:32:37","slug":"aiding-hispanic-students-in-successfully-completing-a-caree","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hets.org\/newdesign\/aiding-hispanic-students-in-successfully-completing-a-caree\/","title":{"rendered":"Aiding Hispanic Students in successfully completing a Caree"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>HETS constantly seeks to support <strong>Hispanic Students<\/strong> and its membership to better serve its constituents. \u00a0Under the <a href=\"http:\/\/virtualplaza.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Virtual Plaza<\/a> we have a section to support students trying to <strong>determine their career pa<\/strong>th as they explore and take the leap to a new career. \u00a0The <a href=\"http:\/\/virtualplaza.org\/wp\/career-transitions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Career Transition<\/a> Center has the tools any student may need in a step-by-step approach to: 1) explore new career possibilities; 2) assess their interests and experience; 3) identify ways to improve their prospects, including networking and education; 4) prepare for a job search; and 5) search and apply for jobs.<\/p>\n<header><\/header>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p>Another resource available for member institutions is the <a href=\"http:\/\/virtualplaza.org\/wp\/testing-education\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Test &amp; Education Resource Center<\/a> with access to <strong>search for colleges<\/strong>, <strong> distance (online) learning opportunities<\/strong>, <strong>programs for international students<\/strong>, and nursing schools. Search <strong>thousands of graduate, law, M.B.A., nursing, and distance learning (online) opportunities<\/strong>. Explore vocational schools, career colleges, information technology programs, executive education programs, and private secondary schools. <strong>Prepare for the GED<\/strong>; <strong>civil service<\/strong> and <strong>military entrance exams<\/strong>; <strong>licensing tests for law enforcement<\/strong>, <strong>real estate<\/strong>, the postal service, and many other fields; plus <strong>college and graduate school admissions exams<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Each of the aforementioned resources has a <strong>series of tutorials<\/strong>, with audio in English, which will aid you in exploring the main sections.\u00a0 Check the table at the <a href=\"http:\/\/virtualplaza.org\/wp\/career-transitions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Career Transitions<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/virtualplaza.org\/wp\/testing-education\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Test &amp; Education Resource Center<\/a> to see <strong>if your institution is a member<\/strong> and you can benefit from these tools.
