Starting from\u00a0<strong>August 3 to 6<\/strong>, this<strong>\u00a0first edition <\/strong>will be\u00a0in<strong>\u00a0English\u00a0<\/strong>through <strong>online<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>synchronous conferences<\/strong>\u00a0with <strong>expert resources<\/strong>. In this\u00a0<strong>first edition\u00a0<\/strong>of the HETS Academy, <strong>13\u00a0candidates were selected<\/strong>\u00a0from institutions like EDP University,\u00a0Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico<strong>,<\/strong>\u00a0California State University San Bernardino, Bronx Community College, Louisiana Community, and Technical College System, Broward International University, and Universidad Iberoamericana (UNINI).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>acceptance to the H-LTLA<\/strong>\u00a0was a\u00a0<strong>competitive application process<\/strong>. The\u00a0<strong>Evaluation Committee<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>members<\/strong>, composed of senior staff at HETS Member Institutions selected by the HETS Board of Directors, based on their expertise, <strong>validated their<\/strong> <strong>peers\u2019 applications<\/strong> for the H-LTLA. Through this process, the evaluation committee <strong>chose<\/strong> <strong>the most<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>competitive applications<\/strong>\u00a0with compelling evidence that the\u00a0candidates meet all the requirements\u00a0to take <strong>full advantage<\/strong> of the Academy. Also, they created<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>a participants group with\u00a0<strong>diverse experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, the HETS <strong>Academy Faculty is delighted and ready<\/strong> to help fill the gaps in the <strong>participant&#8217;s expertise <\/strong>and <strong>experience<\/strong> through synchronous presentations <strong>of eight different topics<\/strong>. Also, would like to announce that thanks to the <strong>great support and interest<\/strong> received for the HETS Academy, a <strong>Spanish Track<\/strong> is on the agenda for the <strong>2022 Spring semester<\/strong>.
