This Board meeting <strong>ends academic year 2018-2019<\/strong>, an intense year for<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_13245\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-13245\" style=\"width: 105px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-13245 size-thumbnail\" src=\"http:\/\/hets.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/President-Haynes_CSUSM-105x140.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"105\" height=\"140\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-13245\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Dr. Karen Haynes, President CSU San Marcos<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>the organization and its members, presenting second year results of the Strategic Plan executed successfully in its second year.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>strategic plan framework corresponding to years 2017-2020<\/strong> is an extension of previous one, and it\u2019s focused on core areas of <strong>access<\/strong>, <strong>retention and successful completion<\/strong>, and <strong>online learning \/ technology integration. <\/strong>Hosts, President Dr. Karen Haynes, and Dr. Lorena Checa, from CSUSM greeted all attendees and opened the meeting sessions after their cordial welcome messages.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_13243\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-13243\" style=\"width: 236px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-13243\" src=\"http:\/\/hets.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Board-members-Ushape_CSUSM-373x280.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"236\" height=\"177\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-13243\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Board Members at The McMahan House, CSUSM<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Among the news shared with the Board were highlighted the <strong>major activities<\/strong> to support the organizational programmatic goals such as: <strong>tailored workshop <\/strong>offerings both online and face to face; additional tools and services added to the <strong>HETS Virtual Plaza<\/strong> and <strong>HETS Website<\/strong>. Also, the results of our main events the<strong> HETS Virtual Best Practices Showcase, Student Leadership Showcases and Tours <\/strong>were presented. Board members were informed about the alliance between HETS and HACU for the publication of the Online Journal during the fall of 2019. Moreover, the final page our newest service, <strong>Student Passport <\/strong>was presented officially to the Board during the first day of meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Board members <strong>also welcomed<\/strong> representatives from <strong>new members<\/strong> such as <strong>Ponce Health Science University<\/strong>. During the second day of meeting the Board held a corporate session with current HETS partners like Instructure, and also welcomed <strong>COBIMET<\/strong> as new partner.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-13246 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/hets.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Cougar-Care-Network-373x280.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"242\" height=\"182\" \/>As part of the Board meeting agenda, HETS celebrated the <strong>Special Event: Best Practices, The Cougar Care Network<\/strong>. The Cougar Care Network is an early support initiative to improve student success, retention and persistence.
