Eduardo Mart\u00ed, served as Vice Chancellor for Community Colleges of the City University of New York and is president emeritus <\/em>Queensborough Community College.\u00a0 Prior to his experience in NYC, he served as President of Corning Community College of the State University of New York (SUNY), and as President of SUNY\u2019s Tompkins Cortland Community College.\u00a0 Dr. Mart\u00ed also served as Executive Dean of Tunxis Community College (Campus CEO, CAO) and Acting President of Middlesex Community College, both located in Connecticut\u00a0Dr. Mart\u00ed serves on the Board of Trustees of Teachers College at Columbia University, as a member of the Board of Governors of the Council for Aid to Education, and as a member of Gateway to College Board of Directors.\u00a0 Previously, he served as a member of the NYS Governor\u2019s Commission on Educational Reform. Previously, The College Board\u2019s Advisory Board on Community Colleges as well as the Community College Research Center Advisory Board of Teachers College at Columbia University.\u00a0 Additionally, he served as Chair of the Board for the Hispanic Educational Telecommunications System (HETS).\u00a0 \u00a0Having previously served on the Board of the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC), he was elected once again in March 2009-11. He was elected as a member of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education in October 2010.\u00a0 In 2011 he was appointed by Mayor Bloomberg to serve on the Panel for Educational Policy of the NYC Department of Education<\/p>\n

Three times a graduate of New York University, Dr. Mart\u00ed holds the Bachelor of Arts, Master of Science, and Ph.D. degrees in biology from the institution.\u00a0 He is the recipient of the Founders Day Award from New York University and was chosen as the recipient of the New York University Alumni Association\u2019s Distinguished Alumnus Award<\/em> in November 2007.\u00a0\u00a0 In October 2008, the New York Post <\/em>honored Dr. Marti with their Liberty Medal Award<\/em> as a champion of human rights.\u00a0 He was previously named to the Honor Roll of the Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for two-year colleges.\u00a0As the recipient of a Fulbright-Hays Seminars Abroad award, he spent June 2004 traveling in China with leaders of minority serving institutions. Dr. Mart\u00ed was inducted, as one of the first members to the HETS Advisory Committee on July 2018.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
