Available the videos of the presentations at the Theater from the 2014 Best Practices Showcase.

videos2The videos of the highest ranked Best Practices are available on this website at the 2014 Best Practices Showcase Conference Videos page for the benefit of those who didn’t have the opportunity to attend.

Celebrated in January 16 and 17, 2014 the HETS Best Practices Showcase highlighted and celebrated the outstanding work of its member institutions focused on three main tracks: retention, assessment of student learning by standards and by competencies, and Distance Learning, in Higher Education with mission-driven emphasis on Hispanics students.

The 2014 Best Practices Showcase was officially opened with a panel discussion at the Theater of the Universidad del Sagrado Corazón, host institution of the event.  This panel of experts was moderated by HETS Chairman and President of IAUPR, Manuel Fernós, Esq. and it was composed by the following panel of experts:

  • Dr. Alberto Acereda, Senior Strategic Advisor to the Vice President and COO of Higher Education at Educational Testing Services (ETS)
  • Dr. María Mercedes Ruíz Cediel, Director, Educational Innovation and Technology, Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia
  •  Dr. Tito Guerrero, III, Vice President, Middle States Commission on Higher Education

To close the event, a special Track winner’s panel  fotos2took place during the second day. On this occasion, it was moderated by Dr. Nitza Hernández, Former HETS Executive Director. The panel was composed of: Assessment: Dr. Jane Delgado, Dean for Institutional Effectiveness and Strategic Planning, Borough of Manhattan Community College, CUNY; Distance Learning: Dr. Celia Cruz-Johnson, Reading Instructor, Reading Department, San José City College; and Retention: Dr. Marva Craig, Vice President for Student Affairs, Borough of Manhattan Community College, CUNY.  In addition to the videos, you can also read the power point presentations of each Best Practice on the Concurrent Sessions page.
