Nina Sarkar<\/strong> is an Associate Professor at Department of Biological Sciences, Bronx Community College of City University of New York. Prior to coming to BCC, she served as an Adjunct Lecturer at both Hostos Community College and Lehman College. While at Lehman College, earned her Doctorate in Biology (subprogram Plant Sciences) as a CUNY Graduate Center student. Sarkar joined BCC as assistant professor in 2003. There became interested in Pedagogical research when asked to put together a professional Development Plan, and believe that that was one of the best thing that happened to her, since it has allowed her to reflect on my teaching and to improve and grow as an educator.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u00a0 Dr. Sarkar teach various Biology courses in the department and have had the opportunity to work with students from all academic programs. Was selected to serve as STEM Faculty\u00a0from Biology department to design and conduct NSF grant funded\u00a0workshops for students interested in science majors.\u00a0 Have been the course coordinator for Microbiology and Infection Control (BIO 28) and Diagnostic Microbiology (BIO 44) for years. She teach Writing-Intensive, Traditional and Hybrid versions of Microbiology and Infection Control course. As a course coordinator she have been an integral part of developing assessment tools for the Microbiology Courses mentioned above and responsible for collecting and compiling the assessment data every semester and submitting report to the College. Professional affiliations include; the Metropolitan Association of College & University Biologists, the American Society of Microbiologists.<\/p>\n

\"Nina\"<\/a>Nina Sarkar<\/strong> holds a doctoral degree in International Finance from the University of Houston, TX. Her research involved testing the dynamics of exchange rates within target zone regimes of the European Monetary System. She is Assistant Professor at Queensborough Community College and teaches Principles of Finance and Principles of Statistics in the Business Department. Currently her research focus is on the scholarship of teaching and learning. She is especially interested in making an impact on student academic performances and uses innovative teaching techniques based on sound pedagogical practices to achieve that. Patricia Kahn, Ph.D. is the Assistant Vice President for Technology Systems at the College of Staten Island. Dr. Kahn has over 15 years\u2019 experience in higher education technology services and 10 years\u2019 experience working in training and technology for the private sector.<\/p>\n

Prior to coming to CSI, Dr. Kahn held the position of Executive Director of Information Technology Services at Brookdale Community College. While at Brookdale, she served as a member of the IT Executive Council for the College, oversaw the implementation of major technological advancements as well as directed activities relevant to budget planning and policy development. Dr. Kahn also has extensive experience in academic technology and distance learning.\u00a0 During her nine-year tenure at Montclair State University, Dr. Kahn held various Information Technology administrative positions where she led the successful implementation of distance learning initiatives, managed the Blackboard Learning Management System, and directed a team of Instructional Designers. Dr. Kahn received her BS and MBA from Manhattan College, and her Ph.D. in Education from Capella University, with a concentration in Instructional Design and Online Learning.<\/p>\n

Dr. Edgar Rodr\u00edguez has a BA in Economics from the University of Puerto Rico R\u00edo Piedras Campus which he completed in 1992. He also holds an MA in Economics from the University of Puerto Rico R\u00edo Piedras Campus. To complete this degree, he approved the thesis: The Social Costs of Adjustment Fund-Supported Program: The Mexican Case.<\/em> In this research three articles were published. In 2007, he completed a DBA in General Business from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico. To complete the degree, he successfully defended a doctoral dissertation titled: The Impact of Uncertainty Business Environment in the Strategic Posture, Strategic Flexibility, and Organizational Design Flexibility in Local Manufacturing Companies in Puerto Rico.<\/em><\/p>\n

He began working at the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico in 1996 as a Professor, where he teaches courses in economics, finance, statistics, and research at graduate and undergraduate level. From 2008 to 2012, he served as Associate Dean and Director of the Graduate School of Business Administration of the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico. He has been speaker in various forums and conferences about Economics, Technology in Higher Education and Social Capital in Puerto Rico. Since July 2012, Dr. Rodr\u00edguez is the Executive Director of Telecommunications and Information Technology of the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico.<\/p>\n
