She holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and postdoctoral experience in Pharmacology from the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus. Currently is the principal investigator of the DE Title III HSI-STEM program Competency Development Approaches: Increasing STEM Awareness and Retention to Narrow the Achievement Gap of Hispanic Students and oversees the implementation of other programs funded by DE-MSIEP, NIH-RISE, and USDA-WAMS.
