She received her Ph.D. in Library and Information Studies from Texas Woman\u2019s University. She obtained several management training certificates including one on \u201cWomen Executive Education\u201d from Harvard University, and \u201cManagement Development\u201d from Miami University in Oxford Ohio.\r\n<\/p><p>\r\nShe is currently chairing the University of Texas System Library Advisory Board, ACRL (Association of College and Research Libraries) Research Committee of the Distance Learning Section, and serving as a Board member of McAllen Public Library. Co-authored several proposals for Grants from Texas State Library, NEH and NSF.
