At the Center, we are coordinating an interactive videoconference titled Education and Violence Prevention among Young People: Everyone’s Responsibility. The videoconference will take place on September 16, 2003, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., at the Sistemas de Información office facilities of the Central Administration of the University of Puerto Rico, located at the Jardín Botánico Sur, in Río Piedras. The event’s goals include discussing this issue with colleagues from other higher education institutions in Puerto Rico and the United States. We also intend to offer a space to let people learn about projects and the progress of our research. We would like this space to serve as a vehicle that will enable networking and collaboration opportunities between different initiatives.
The Center for Violence Prevention among Young Hispanics of the Filius Institute of the University of Puerto Rico makes you a special invitation to attend this activity and to participate in this discussion, co-sponsored by The Virtual Plaza (www.virtualplaza.org), which will offer during the conference a ’Chat’ to interact as well as the faculty’s electronic forum to have a dialogue about the topic “Violence Prevention among Young People” during the days following the videoconference. To get into the Chat or the forum, you just have to register and login to the Virtual Plaza. Once connected to the system, you can access the forum directly from the login confirmation page or from the Cybercafe section.
We hope to find you there. Please call to confirm your attendance, at 787-758-3052, as soon as possible.
