Through the Oracle Academy, Oracle strives to advance computer science education and make it accessible to students globally to drive knowledge, innovation, skills development, and diversity in technology fields.  Oracle Academy currently partners with 7,000+ educational institutions worldwide, enabling educators in secondary schools, colleges, and universities to use Oracle software, curriculum, Oracle Press books, lectures, certification preparation, and community resources to equip students with the technical skills they need to enter the global workforce prepared to succeed.

oracleacademy3Oracle Academy resources currently benefit more than 2.5 million students in 102 countries, helping them gain industry-relevant skills prior to entering the workforce. Membership is available to nonprofit, accredited education institutions seeking to integrate Oracle Academy resources into diploma and degree-granting programs.  CS education resources provided by Oracle Academy are valued at more than $2.7 billion annually.

Currently in Latin America, 278 educational institutions in 18 countries are Oracle Academy members.  In the last year, Oracle Academy has delivered training sessions in topics related to Java, database design, and SQL programming in countries like Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Trinidad and Tobago, among others.

This commitment continues this year, with a team in Latin America engaged in awakening the interest of students in computer science and helping teachers have the training and tools to succeed with this purpose and begin to address the global IT skills gap in Latin America.
